time for the skinny jeans

Against all my wishes, my Sophie Mae has gone and done it. She is slimming down and her gorgeous chunk thighs are losing their 'power'. Oh I love her little chunk bod! I knew this whole walking thing would only lead to disaster.

Makes sense though. Exercise=burning calories=losing fat.

Luckily her belly is holding strong.

eric update

Please sit back and enjoy this nice little story.

Once upon a time there was a man named Eric. His construction business in Boise took a down turn with the economy so he decided to look for work elsewhere. He spent a couple weeks researching hurricane debris removal in Texas and Louisiana, packed up his bags and drove 2000 miles away.

He was ensured to make excellent money, therefore justifying being away from his family. Well people are liars. He found out that workers were not getting paid and that FEMA was terribly unorganized.

Out a couple weeks of his time and lots of money, Eric has decided to find work on his own. He has been able pick up a few odd end jobs using his trailer and skidster as well as recycling scrap metal. This man will not give up.

Here comes my favorite part:

He now is living in his truck. He has become close friends with a felon (and this felon's kitty). The felon has done 20 years in prison for armed robbery and murder. At this same camp site he has also befriended some men from Florida and their camp trailer, 'The Vogue'.

He will have been gone 3 weeks this Wednesday. As of this moment it has been a total waste of time, but things are slowly looking up. I guess we will just have to see what happens to our main character as the days progress.

To be continued...

try not to throw up

It was nice of my mom to call on Sophie's birthday (I didn't even know she knew her birthday). It was nice of her to take us out to lunch. It was nice of her to get Soph a present.

Let me tell you what wasn't nice....

mom: "Oh..look how grown up she is! Look how pretty she is! You know who she reminds me of...."
me: "I know! After we got her hair cut she's started looking more Japanese, more like me!"
mom: "No she reminds me of ME!"

BARF.

Oh I forgot, since Sophie is pretty, of course my mom thought she looked like herself. Silly me, and here I was thinking that my own daughter might resemble me. What could have I been thinking?!

I know I winced when she said that. At least I didn't throw up in my mouth.

Well here are some cute pics to balance out that disturbing thought. Soph had a great time in the Radio Flyer- it was her first experience in a pretty little red wagon.

oooh....stairs.....

Why is it that your kid has to love the dangerous things in your house? Electrical outlets, cords, pens, and now stairs are no longer safe from the Sopha-master.

Sophie loves hangin' with her Gigi, but I think her favorite part about her grandma's house is the stairs. She could spend countless amounts of time going up and down- over and over and over. I know we should probably gate it off, but she is so stinkin' cute. And for now we are all Johnny on the Spot watchin' that kid like an eagle.

Hey Soph remember that time it was your birthday and while we opened your presents you decided to hang out on the stairs instead?

Hey and remember that time you almost 'marked' it as your territory? Cuz I have some pics if the memory slipped your mind....

Eric status: We are both frustrated. Don't really want to talk about it. But he does have 'roommates', if that's what ya call it when 5 adult males share the same hotel room. At least he's not alone. Oh, and don't worry, one of them has scabies (for real). Amazing.

lets ride

What an icky day...it's cold, dreary, and all the girls seem to dislike this change in weather. Apparently this is the earliest snowfall Boise has ever had. On top of it for some reason Lucy is just constantly spazzing out (I know...what a surprise). I am two seconds from shipping her off to be with Eric in Louisiana. I have a box , packing tape, and a sheet of stamps, don't test me Lucy. I'll do it.

I think Soph has the right idea here. She's thinking about cruising to someplace warm and Lucy free. I bet her new wheels get decent gas mileage too. I'm in Soph....let's go.

snow day???

What the heck?!

Sophie and I took a nap together and woke up to this. Yeah it got cold here really fast, but snow? Are ya kidding me! Like 2 weeks ago it was in the 80s.

All I know is that I don't like it. Our Dish Network isn't working, I hate driving because of all the stupid people on the road, and Soph said she wanted nothing to do with it. She just stood on the front step and stared off. Even she knows its wrong. Smart kid.

Eric status: He got to hit up Bourbon Street last night (it was awesome), and today they drank in the parking lot of a Hooters/K-Mart/Dollar Store. Classy. They are on assignment tomorrow, but today was a wash, and apparently it's normal to "tailgate" in a public lot even without a football game. Wow.

birthday at grandma's 'house'

Hi Daddy! Since we already had my party on Monday, Mommy took me down to "Grandma Glenna's" to play!

I had a party meeting tons of new people, throwing my eggs on the floor, greeting customers, and exploring the entire restaurant.

Grandma's house is cool because I can eat whatever I want and I always get chocolate milk! But it's sorta confusing cuz Mommy keeps calling her house Elmer's....hmm...she makes no sense.

Going to Grandma's is exhausting Daddy! I miss you!

Eric status: He is currently exploring Bourbon Street. Lots of bars, lots of partying, lots of trannys. He texted me a pic he took with one fine lookin' tranny... I better watch out, she was hot! :)

it's a party

On Monday we celebrated Sophie's 1st birthday!!! We had the best time and here are some pics I thought we'd share:

Let's start with a couple decorations...

Marty made the most amazing birthday cakes...

And Soph got to use the Red Plate for the first time!

Mmm... it's fun eating birthday cake!

Sophie got a pony from her grandpa!

And she got a sweet ride from the fam!

Here she is opening all her fabulous presents-

Here's everyone....

(Kristi found a hidden talent...I think she's takin this act on the road.)

And Soph got to hang out with her sis Alexandria...what a nice present!

Thank you everyone so much!!! You all made Sophie's first birthday so special!

Eric update: He is now in Louisiana, and we think he has found a 'home'. He is in charge of a medium sized crew that will be picking up hurricane debris (trees, seaweed, etc) in the swamplands outside of New Orleans. He is excited to get to get to work and to have his first real assignment. We love you babe! You are doing amazing!
